The Time for Half Steps and measures is over
Spiritual Litmus test
There are times in the Christian walk when we fall away from God. The fire seems to die down, the cares of this world overwhelm us, and we drift away. Of course this is a very dangerous place for a Christian to be. Walking outside the protection of God is a sure-fire way to attract the enemy's attention. Once you start down that slippery slope, it can be very hard to stop yourself from falling entirely.. and you don't want to fall into that pit.
The Bible offers us guidance, comfort, encouragement, peace, hope.. and sometimes, a warning. If our eyes are opened to see the truth, and our ears are able to hear His voice.. this verse can be a very good spiritual litmus test.
1 John 2:1-6: " My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He Himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins - and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, "I know God," but doesn't obey God's commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God's word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did."
If this speaks to you, convicts you of an area where you have turned from God.. do not turn away. Come back to Him, hear the voice of your Shepherd.. your Savior.. your Friend. Fall at his feet, at the foot of the cross. Ask for his forgiveness...Repent, turn away from that sin... and embrace the undeserved forgiveness and grace and mercy he gives you.
God loves you.. please come back to Him. This world can only offer cheap imitations of what he has.. Satan cannot create life.. he only destroys it.. go back to the Creator of Life... go back home to your Father.. he is waiting.. with open arms.
